Projector, screen, lift and power control from one box

Drive projector screens, lifts and power sequencing with the RELO IO8: relays for motors and contactors, TCP and HTTP commands for projectors and displays.

Two kinds of control in one room

A projection setup mixes two worlds. Screens, lifts and blinds want a dry contact or a relay pulse on their motor controller. Projectors and displays want a network command. Most rooms end up with a separate box for each.

The RELO IO8 does both. Its relays drive the motor controllers, and the same flow sends TCP or HTTP commands to the projector and the displays.

Power sequencing that runs itself

Delay nodes put time between steps, so amplifiers come up after the processors and go down before them. A Relay State condition stops a second button press from cycling a projector that is still warming up.

The relays are rated 24V at 400mA. That is right for the control input on a contactor, a power distribution unit or a screen controller. For mains loads, the relay switches the contactor and the contactor switches the power.

  • Screen down and lift out on relay pulses
  • Projector on with a TCP or HTTP command, or a relay into its contact input
  • Amplifier power through a contactor, after a delay
  • Everything off on a schedule at the end of the day

Talking to projectors

Most installation projectors and professional displays accept control commands over TCP or HTTP. Save the projector as a subdevice in Cueva Desktop, and its power on and off commands become actions you can drop into any flow.

Questions

Common questions.

Not through the relay contacts, which are rated 24V at 400mA. Use the relay to switch a contactor or a PDU with a control input, or send the device its own network power command.

The RELO IO8 sends TCP strings, and PJLink is a TCP protocol. For a projector with PJLink authentication turned off, the PJLink power commands can be sent as TCP messages. Check the projector's own control documentation for its port and command set.

Yes. Put Delay nodes between the steps of a flow and each output follows in turn. Build one flow for power up and one for power down.

A wall button on one of the eight inputs, a Stream Deck through Bitfocus Companion, an HTTP call from another system, or a schedule.
