Every connection between your device and Horizon is encrypted and authenticated. No inbound ports, no shared authentication secrets on the device, no network exposure.
TLS-encrypted transport
All traffic between your device and Horizon is encrypted with TLS, the same protocol used for online banking and enterprise software. This protects your data from eavesdropping and tampering while it is in transit.
X.509 certificate authentication
Each device is provisioned with a unique X.509 client certificate. Only devices holding a valid, signed certificate can connect to the Horizon backend. There are no passwords or API keys on the device.
No inbound firewall rules needed
Devices only initiate outbound connections. You never need to open ports or configure port forwarding, so Horizon works across most networks, including strict corporate and venue environments.
Isolated device identities
Each device has its own certificate and identity. If a device is lost or decommissioned, its certificate can be revoked independently, without affecting any other device on your account.

All Cueva Control devices work without a Horizon subscription. Without it, remote features are not available. You can still view the device status but you cannot make changes remotely. To configure or control the device you need to be on the same local network. Horizon lets you manage everything from the office, from home, or anywhere else.

What happens if I don't renew?
Your device keeps running all on-device automations. Nothing stops working locally. You lose access to the Horizon dashboard, remote access, and OTA firmware updates until you renew.
Is the first year really included?
Yes. Every RELO IO8 ships with a full 12-month Horizon license activated at the time of device registration. Renewal is due on the anniversary.
How is the volume discount applied?
The per-device price depends on your total fleet size. If you have 8 devices, all 8 are billed at €24.95/device/year. There is no blended rate. You simply move into the next tier.
Can I mix devices across multiple locations?
Yes. All devices on one account are counted together regardless of location. One account can manage unlimited locations.
Do you offer invoicing or purchase orders?
