Comparison

An Extron control alternative built on open protocols

Comparing Extron control processors? Cueva Control gives you relays, inputs and IP control in one PoE box, with logic you draw and deploy yourself.

What Extron does well

Extron makes a wide range of AV hardware: switchers, extenders, processors and control. Its control processors are common in education and corporate rooms, and its configuration tools cover simple rooms without code, with scripting available for more complex ones.

Where Cueva Control is different

Cueva Control is control only, and that focus shows. The RELO IO8 combines eight relays, eight inputs and six network protocols, including Art-Net, OSC and RTP MIDI for show and lighting work, in a third of a rack unit. Logic is drawn as a flow, deployed to the device and runs there.

Cueva Horizon adds remote status and firmware updates for every controller, with twelve months included.

Questions

Common questions.

Yes, where the Extron device accepts network commands. The RELO IO8 sends TCP, UDP and HTTP, and can be triggered by them too.

No. Cueva Control makes control hardware and software. Keep your video chain and use the RELO IO8 to control it.

There is no code to write. Conditions, switches, variables, loops and delays in the flow editor cover most of what a script would do in a room.
