Comparison
A Crestron touch panel alternative on any iPad or Android
Cueva Interface Builder versus Crestron touch panels, Crestron Construct and Crestron Go: design an AV touch panel yourself and run it on any iPad or Android.
How Crestron panels are built
Crestron has a deep panel ecosystem. Its TSW touch screens and the Crestron One and Crestron Go apps run interfaces designed in Crestron Construct, a drag-and-drop HTML5 editor that Crestron says needs less in-depth coding, or built by developers with the CH5 toolkit. The logic behind the buttons runs on a Crestron control system and is usually programmed.
For a large campus with a Crestron programmer on call, that is a proven path. For a room whose integrator wants to change a button on site, it is a long chain.
The Cueva Interface Builder way
Cueva Interface Builder, coming soon to Cueva Desktop, puts the panel design next to the logic. You drop buttons, faders and live feedback onto tablet and phone pages, wire each control to a relay, a flow or a node on the RELO IO8, and upload it with one click. Any iPad, iPhone or Android device on the same network runs it in the Cueva Interface app.
- No panel hardware to buy: use the tablets the client already has
- Logic as flows you draw, not code you write
- Pages per user and PIN locks for guests and staff
- Live preview against the real device before you upload
Using both
A RELO IO8 can sit next to a Crestron system as extra relays and inputs, taking TCP or HTTP commands from the processor. The Crestron panel keeps running the room, and the RELO IO8 handles the I/O.

Questions
Common questions.
For rooms run by a RELO IO8, that is what it is for. It does not run on a Crestron control system, so in a Crestron room the Crestron panel stays, and a RELO IO8 can add relays and inputs next to it.
No. Panels are designed by dragging components onto pages, and the logic behind them is built as flows on a canvas.
Any iPad, iPhone or Android phone or tablet that can run the Cueva Interface app and reach the RELO IO8 on the local network.
